The fourth annual John Hanna Memorial Invitational Tournament is scheduled to take place Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, in Prescott. Six teams from Arizona and New Mexico will compete in the men’s fast pitch NAFA wooden bat event during Memorial Day weekend. Teams participating include the Patriots, Regulators and Wolf Pack from Prescott, while the Bandits from Phoenix and Brewers from Window Rock return. McCoy 913 of Red Rock, New Mexico, are also set to attend. Games begin Saturday at 8 a.m. at Ken Lindley Field. Sunday’s playoffs are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., with the championship slated for 4 p.m. There is no admission fee. Wade Parker softball tournament set to honor fallen 19 hotshots
The sixth annual Wake Parker Weekend Co-Ed Softball Tournament is scheduled for Father’s Day Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17, in Chino Valley. The tournament will take place at Community Center Park on 1615 N. Road 1 East in Chino Valley. Parker, a Chino Valley High School graduate, was one of the 19 fallen Granite Mountain Hotshots who died while battling the Yarnell Hill Fire in June 2013. The tournament is played in their honor. Entry fee is $300 per team, and all proceeds from the tournament go to the Wade Parker Memorial Foundation, which operates a scholarship fund. Junior Match Play Championship set for July 23-26 in Prescott
The 2018 Prescott City Junior Match Play Championship is scheduled to take place Monday through Thursday, July 23 to 26, at Antelope Hills Golf Course in Prescott. Entry fee is $25 per golfer, which includes lunch, practice balls, green fees and trophies. Players must be 18 years of age or younger as of July 23, 2018, and must be able to play 18 holes of golf without supervision. Caddies, spectators and parents are not allowed on the course. Spectators are allowed only on holes No. 1, No. 9 and No. 18. Registration packets can be picked up in the Antelope Hills pro shop and are due by 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 17. Free pickleball lessons offered this summer in Prescott
The Willow Hills Pickleball Club is offering free basic lessons for those interested in learning the game of pickleball at 9 a.m. every Saturday through the end of July.
