The Arizona Game and Fish Department announced this week that Arizona anglers can fish the state’s waters for free Saturday, June 2. Arizona’s free fishing day is part of National Fishing and Boating Week, which runs June 2-10. During that Saturday only, no fishing licenses are required for persons fishing any public waters in Arizona.
The Game and Fish department asks anglers to remember that bag limits and other fishing regulations are still in full effect and must be observed. Kids under the age of 10 can fish for free all year long in Arizona. The Game and Fish department will also sponsor free fishing day clinics and events to give people the opportunity to try out this fun, family-oriented pastime and Goldwater Lake in Prescott has been chosen as one site.
Loaner fishing rods, bait and instruction are provided for free at Goldwater Lake from 8 a.m. to noon June 2.
Other locations include:
Lake Pleasant, Peoria, 6 to 10 a.m.
Kaibab Lake, Williams, 9 a.m. to noon
Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Cottonwood, 8 a.m. to noon
