Chopped ‘Senior’ Edition contest

Alta Vista Senior Living hosted its first Chopped “Senior” Edition contest this past week. “We had to revise the contest a bit to accommodate and simplify it for our residents. Since this is our first contest we decided to start off with a dessert, of the participants choice, and “wow” were we amazed at what our local chefs brought to the table!” stated Shannon Vialpando, director of Community Relations. “We had two winners! Marilyn Henze made a decadent upside down chocolate cake, winning her first place for best hot dessert, and Peg Wyss with the help of her caregiver Judy, made a light and airy pineapple upside down cake, winning her 1st place for best cold dessert. We think it is important here at Alta Vista to come up with a variety of activities that engage everyone’s taste!” Alta Vista is hoping to make this a quarterly event.
