Miriam S. Kuebler

Miriam S. Kuebler, age 68, of Prescott, Arizona, passed on to a better place on Saturday, May 12, 2018. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, on May 4, 1950, to Emil and Esther (Johnson) Jonas, and married Judge Robert Kuebler, Jr., in Prescott, Arizona, in 1996. Miriam graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1968 and attended Adrian College in Michigan and Yavapai Community College in Prescott. She worked as a Title Officer in real estate in Prescott. She played softball and was the women’s archery champion in Arizona from 1974-76.

Despite being in a wheelchair for nearly the last 17 years, Miriam never lost her sense of humor or her spirit for life. She loved music, watching old and new movies, collecting recipes and cooking, taking courses from painting to philosophy, and caring for the numerous species of birds and plants on her deck. She loved horses and the Kentucky Derby as evidenced by the hat in her picture.

Miriam was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, who died in an automobile accident in Montana in 2001; her brother, Ken, in 2003; her stepdaughter, Jodi Reed in 2015; and her son, Matthew, in 2016. Miriam is survived by her brothers, Roger (Susan) and David (Susan) Jonas; stepson, Terry Reed; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bonnie Pranter and Barbara Timmer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Memorial Day, May 28, 2018, at 7 p.m., the Activity Room at Brookdale Prescott. A separate event will be held in Grand Ledge, Michigan, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Audubon Society, animal rescue groups or the charitable organization of your choice.
