Letter: Under attack 2018
There was never any doubt that Russia infiltrated our democracy and our 2016 elections. The evidence is clear. The indictments of 13 Russian nationals by Robert Mueller’s team, gave Americans more details about just how the attacks were carried out. The burning questions right now are: Will President Trump and Congress finally do something?
We’d all hope any President of the United States would stand up to Russian aggression and protect our nation. Trump’s response has been just the opposite. The American people have the right to know why he has not acknowledged these ongoing attacks, and why our Congress has done nothing to protect us from future attacks. President Trump is far more worried about protecting his own interests and golf than honoring his sworn oath to defend the Constitution.
After witnessing the past year, one more porn star and a Playboy bunny later, I’m convinced when the Russian Navy is seen navigating up the Potomac River into Washington, D.C., Republicans will tell us all: “The Russians are our friends” and “It’s just a joint training exercise.” History’s proven 30 percent of us will blissfully believe them, while Fox confirms it.
