Although cloudy, the temperature wasn’t too cold Saturday, March 10, for the walkers signed up for the Meals on Wheels Walk-A-Thon.
As usual, Judge Bill Rummer and Supervisor Tom Thurman manned the banner through the entire walk. John Stabe Jr. and Bryan James of Yavapai Broadcasting were on hand with their “spin the wheel” for prizes and to put in a good word for a great organization.
The Mayer Area Meals on Wheels provides for about 90 people daily who otherwise wouldn’t see a good meal. With federal funding cuts, they rely on fundraising to continue to support the community. The Walk-A-Thon is one of the bigger fundraisers held annually to support the organization.
