Revitalizing apple cider
Prescott’s newest apple cider orchard, Stoic Cider, had a successful first year in 2017, producing 70 barrels of cider, both on tap and bottled. It can be found at Park Plaza Liquor and Deli, or ordered online.
Located in Williamson Valley, Kanin Routson and his fiancé, Tierney Schipper, Cody Routson and Clare Stielstra grow heritage apple varieties and use a slow, cold fermentation process in the making of their apple cider. Technically a farm winery that makes apple wine, Stoic’s website, stoiccider.com, states, “Apples are our life, cider is our water, so don’t waste time drinking other things.”
