Rants & Raves: March 11, 2018

Got something on your mind? Tell us about it in 40 words or less.

  • How about a law in the case of a person making threatening remarks. It may be hard to enforce. But, several witnesses of threatening remarks could equal a felony and weapons on confiscation. And, then mandatory counseling.

  • Ever wondered why a human being will do something really stupid. Like trying to open the exit door in an airplane while it’s in the air. I think microwave ovens are responsible. Cigarettes weren’t dangerous until 60 years after their introduction.

  • Science is simple. Any theory, like gravity, is based on all the available evidence. If you disagree, present your evidence for consideration by the experts. This applies to climate change, GMO foods, creationism, flat Earth, young Earth!

  • Sometimes we forget how much our firefighters do for us. We take them for granted until something happens and we realize how critically important they are for our community. Thank you, Prescott Fire Department for all that you do.

  • In the recent wedding supplement of the Daily Courier, “Engagements to Arrangements” everything was covered except the thank you cards.

  • Chino Valley Police does a good job most of the time, expect when it comes to speeding tickets. Start on Red Cinder Road. Three hours one night doesn’t cut it. Try again, please.

  • A big thank you for Yavapai softball coverage. Jaya’s grandparents we were able to catch the Roughriders’ doubleheaders at Chandler and Prescott this past week. We rely on you as our eyes otherwise! Thank you.
