To recognize and honor city employees who are currently serving active duty in the military, the City of Prescott has begun displaying a yellow ribbon on a pillar near the entrance to City Hall on Cortez Street.

Mayor Greg Mengarelli announced the start of the yellow ribbon display at the Prescott City Council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 27.

“It’s important for us to keep these individuals in our thoughts and prayers as they serve their country,” Mengarelli said. “The yellow ribbon will remain in place as long as we have city employees serving active duty in the military.”

A city news release noted that three city employees currently are serving active duty, and one is expected to deploy soon.
