Small brush fire off Highway 89 quick work for firefighters

The Prescott Fire Department responded to a wildland fire on Highway 89 in the Granite Dells area at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, Battalion Chief Scott Luedeman said.

Two engines and a battalion chief responded to a less than one-quarter acre fire that was mainly in a pile of brush, Luedeman said. It was a quick knockdown and took about one hour to extinguish.

The cause is currently unknown.
