Mark Malanga met his Savior Jesus Christ June 10, 2018. Mark was born Steven Mark Ellis to Jack and Mary Ellis Sept. 6, 1955, in Rockford, Illinois. Mark and his sisters were adopted by John Malanga on Sept. 23, 1965. Mark graduated form Patagonia High School, then married Zenda Lamma July 14, 1974. Mark and Zenda met in the 5th grade when they were 10 years old. Their lives together were full of adventures: like living in Australia for five years and traveling from Nogales, Arizona, to the Panama Canal and back in their little Toyota pick-up truck. The couple was also blessed with four children: Megan (Dustin) McKissen, Dustin Malanga, Alex (Mark) Pereboom and Micah (Nic) Malanga. They have also been blessed with seven grandchildren: Elizabeth, Dylanger, and Colette McKissen, Coast Tracy, Delta Pereboom, and Jasper and Astrid Harrison.
Mark was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be remembered for his wit and fun-loving nature. He also loved people and knew everyone’s name, no one was a stranger to Mark. He was hard working, enjoying life and always looking for an adventure.
Mark ran athletic clubs and sold gym equipment for 20 years in Southern Arizona and Australia, followed by 23 years with US Foods in Prescott. His hobby was weight lifting which lead him into body building competitions, most of which he won. Mark is survived by his wife, Zenda, of almost 44 years; his sisters, Ranee Malanga and Meg VanVirk; Aunt and Uncle Bob and Nancy Toliver; many cousins and nieces and nephews. This beloved man will be greatly missed, but the promise to see him again is our hope. He loved his Lord and lived a Christian life every day and with everyone he met. Services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Calvary Chapel of Prescott, 2313 E. Highway 69, Prescott, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the James Family Prescott YMCA to support youth programs.
