Yavapai Casino, located along Highway 69 near the Prescott Resort and Bucky’s Casino, temporarily closed Monday, July 30, due to a security concern.

The Yavapai Casino, 1505 E. Highway 69, in Prescott closed as of about 11 a.m. today, July 30, due to a security concern.

“We had an issue with our surveillance cameras,” said Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe’s Tribal General Manager Steve Rosene. “That’s a big deal for us, so we had to ask everyone to leave.”

Those visiting the casino and who wished to continue gambling were bused across the street and up the hill to Bucky’s Casino.

“It was done safely with no problems,” Rosene said.

The issues were resolved by about 6 p.m. and casino staff said they believed they'd be open later in the night.
