21st Century Car Show raises money for Prescott schools
Prescott High School 2018 graduate Charles Hicks held his first car show the weekend of July 14-15 at the PUSD District Office. The 21st Century Car Show, an idea Hicks came up with to feed his passion for cars, was well attended by some of the finest autos in the area as well as from Phoenix. The parking lot was filled to capacity with exotic sport cars, luxury cars, and pure power American muscle cars, all year 2000 and newer. Hicks who will be leaving Prescott in August to attend Willamette University said, “I wanted to hold a show for newer cars. There are lots of car shows for the older hot rods, which are cool, but I just wanted to showcase these newer cars. I also wanted to raise some funds for PUSD and give back to the community that has helped raise me.” The show raised more than $1,000 through sponsorship and registration, all of which will be donated to PUSD. Even though the show got cut short by a thunderstorm Hicks was optimistic: “I had a great time organizing and promoting this show. It helped me meet some very interesting people, and it is my hope this show can grow, and become an annual event.
