Cooking With Diane: Lemon Pound Cake Bars
For those of you who like lemons you will love these sweet, tart, lemon bars.
“Lemon Pound Cake Bars”
2 sticks of butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups self-rising flour
2 tablespoons lemon zest
1/3 cup lemon juice ( approximately 2 lemons)
Melt butter in a sauce pan. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients in order, mixing well after each. Pour batter into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Cool.
2 tablespoons butter (melted)
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons sour cream
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
2-3 drops yellow food coloring (optional)
In a small sauce pan melt butter. Remove from stove stir in remaining ingredients, stir until smooth, pour over pound cake and cut into bars to serve.
