Drivers on California's Highway 101 faced an unexpected distraction in the form of a naked man on a bicycle pedaling down the middle of the roadway this week.
Instagram user nickmofaves posted a video on Instagram and commented, "It’s against California law to ride a bike without a helmet. Doesn’t he know that. I love the SF Bay Area always interesting."
The California Highway Patrol received numerous calls about the naked cyclist but the agency told local media outlets it had no plans to pursue a criminal case, but did advise residents against riding bicycles on busy California highways.
"Our main concern is not that he was naked," CHP Officer Ross Lee told the San Francisco Gate. "The main concern is that he could have been killed riding his bicycle on the freeway or caused a collision."
