It is a fairly new game being played and many aren’t aware that it is a combination of tennis, badminton and volleyball. It is played with paddles instead of rackets, and uses a whiffle ball, which slows the game down for those of us that aren’t quite as quick as we used to be. There is a group that plays at Henry Cordes Park on Friday’s at 6:30 a.m., while the weather is a bit more cooperative and things aren’t quite so hot.
The game is open to everyone, so if you would like to try your hand at it, drop by one morning and the other players will welcome you and help you get acquainted with the game. It can be played by two or four to a team, with the whiffle ball paddled over the net. Today’s team consisted of Karon Trovillion and Joyce Nelson playing against Sharon Regen and Connie Amenta (pictured at the net just after a game win by Karon and Joyce). This is a great way to start the day and to keep you energized.
