Jan Brewer, in a recent “Talk of the Town” column, praised Trump’s leadership in the saga of kids separated from their parents. We have a reality show president who created a real crisis by pushing a policy that tears children from their parents. The policy violated a few American and Christian values, and the public wasn’t pleased. Blowback intensified, so he shifted the blame, claiming he was powerless to fix the problem he created.
When he could no longer take the heat, Trump feigned compassion and “fixed” the problem that he repeatedly said he could not fix. Then Brewer used the old “arsonist puts out fire” argument and declared Trump a hero. What’s really Brewering here? Brewer has been a consistent supporter of Trump, especially on his more controversial stances. This is just the latest instance of her defending his bumbling handling of a Trump-caused mess.
