Police in the Canadian province of Quebec shared a video on social media of a bear climbing onto an occupied police cruiser.

The provincial police department, Surete du Quebec, posted photos and a video on their Facebook page showing the bear climbing onto the cruiser's hood and looking in its windows and mirror.

Police said the encounter took place at the Chapais-Chibougamau police station in an area near the Ashuapmushuan game reserve.

According to the Facebook post, officers tried to coax the bear away from the roadway, but in the end a truck driver used his horn to scare the bear away.

Police reminded drivers to watch for wildlife crossing the roads. "An animal can cross your road at any time, be vigilant when you travel!" the Facebook post read.
