Obituary: Iras Maxine Wiggins
Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother Iras Maxine Wiggins “Ike,” born July, 15, 1933, as Iras Maxine Lofton in Ogden, Utah, died peacefully in Prescott, Arizona, on June 28, 2018, at the age of 84.
Iras is survived by her husband, Charles Lee Wiggins; their children, Carol Lee Adams of Stockton, California, Marvin Eugene Wiggins of Chino Valley, Arizona, Sheryl Ann Read of Prescott, Arizona, Bobbie Jane Peters of Chino Valley, Arizona, and Troylyn Faye Taylor of Prescott, Arizona; siblings include Marvine Lister of Kaysville, Utah and Lola Taylor of Carbonville, Utah. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Johnathon Paul Cooper; her parents, Marvin Frank Lofton and Janie Lofton; and her brother, Robert Lofton.
Iras was a foster mother to over 100 newborns in Fremont, California, for many years. She was a generous and dedicated individual who loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with every bit of her being. She was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for 10 a.m., July 14, 2018, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 1001 N. Ruth Street, Prescott, Arizona, with a reception to follow in the cultural hall of the church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Iras’s life and memory. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of the Pines at 13207 E. State Route 169, Dewey, Arizona. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Pines and Granite Creek Rehabilitation for all of their loving care and generous devotion to their jobs and the patients they care for.
