Roadwork in Brief: Rosser Street, Smoke Tree Lane and Dexter Neighborhood

Rosser Street

The City of Prescott and Asphalt Paving & Supply, Inc., are set to begin a road and infrastructure reconstruction project along Rosser Street the week of Feb. 12. The project consists of removing and replacing the existing paved surface with new asphalt pavement and reconstruction of a detention basin at the corner of West Rosser

Street and Campbell Avenue. Additionally, new sidewalk, curb and gutter, and driveway entrances will be replaced as needed. The project extents include Rosser Street from Campbell Avenue to just east of Eagle View Drive.

Once complete, this project will relieve storm-water runoff in areas surrounding the detention basin and provide a smoother, quieter ride for road users. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2018.

WORK BEGINS — Starting Monday, crews will begin asphalt milling operations and excavating the existing roadway. Work will be performed along Rosser Street from Piping Rock Road to just east of Eagle View Drive. Be aware of the following impacts: from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 12-16. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times, however, motorists may encounter lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, and flagging operations throughout the work zone. Motorists should allow for extra time to get through the area and use an alternate route if possible.

Smoke Tree Lane

Street maintenance crews will continue making repairs to the pavement on East Smoke Tree Lane starting Tuesday, Feb. 13, through Friday, Feb. 16.

Smoke Tree Lane will be closed to westbound traffic from Solstice Drive to Cabaret Street daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. while work is being performed. Schedule is subject to change due to weather.

Motorists are requested to access East Smoke Tree Lane west of Cabaret Street by traveling north on Solstice Drive to Trail Walk to South Lakeview Drive to Peace Pipe to Golden Hawk Drive to Golden Bear Drive, or access from Willow Creek Road.

The Prescott Lakes Clubhouse can be accessed from the eastbound lane. Detour signs will be in place.

Dexter Neighborhood

The City of Prescott and Capital Improvements, LLC, are working on a road and utility upgrade project along select streets in the Dexter Neighborhood. The project consists of replacing undersized water and sewer main lines, road improvements, and installing new water service connections for residents. In addition to this work, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and driveway replacements will be performed as needed.

This project is part of an ongoing program to replace deteriorated and undersized main lines within the city utility system. Once complete, these upgrades will increase service reliability and main line capacity for the Dexter Neighborhood and surrounding areas. Project completion is scheduled for spring 2018.

BIRD STREET — Crews have finished replacing driveway approaches and curb and gutter along Bird Street from Hillside Avenue to just north of West Merritt Avenue. Be aware of the following impacts: from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 12-16. Bird Street is temporarily open to through traffic, however, motorists are reminded that this is an active work zone and to be aware of rough roads, heavy equipment, and to use an alternate route if possible.

RUTH STREET — Crews will continue replacing driveway approaches and curb and gutter as needed along Ruth Street from West Hillside Avenue to Whipple Street throughout the week. Be aware of the following impacts: from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 12-16. Ruth Street will be closed to through traffic in the work zone, however, personnel will accommodate access for local businesses and residents. Please remain alert for reduced speeds, rough roads, and flaggers in the work zone.

CAMPBELL STREET — Work to install the new water main and lateral service lines along Campbell Street, including testing the system, is now complete. Be aware of the following impacts: from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 12-16. Campbell Street is temporarily open to through traffic, however, motorists are reminded that this is an active work zone and to be aware of rough roads, heavy equipment, and to use an alternate route if possible.

DAMERON DRIVE — Crews will continue the process of tying the newly installed lateral service lines into private connections along Dameron Drive from West Hillside Avenue to Whipple Street. Residents receiving cross-lot connections will be contacted by the contractor prior to any construction activities on the property. In addition to this work, crews will begin installing new water main line along Dameron Drive from the Brannen Avenue intersection to Comfort Avenue throughout the week.

Be aware of the following impacts: from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 12-16. Dameron Drive will be closed to through traffic in the work zone, however, personnel will accommodate access for local businesses and residents. Please remain alert for reduced speeds, rough roads, and flaggers in the work zone.

LINCOLN AVENUE — Crews will continue performing concrete work and installing valley gutter along the west side of Lincoln Avenue, between West Merritt Avenue and Whipple Street. Be aware of the following impacts: from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 12-16. Lincoln Avenue will be closed to through traffic in the work zone, however, personnel will accommodate access for local businesses and residents. Please remain alert for reduced speeds, rough roads, and flaggers in the work zone.

UTILITY SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS — The process of tying the newly installed lateral service lines into private connections has begun. Please be aware that temporary water shut offs will be required to perform this work. Affected businesses and residents will be notified at least 48-hours in advance of any temporary utility interruptions.
