Suspect sought after hit-and-run collision with pedestrian Friday night in Cordes Lakes

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help after a man was struck by a vehicle Friday evening while walking southbound on Stagecoach Trail in Cordes Lakes.

An unidentified vehicle struck a 49-year-old Cordes Lakes man between 8:30 and 8:50 p.m. while he was on Stagecoach Trail approximately 300 feet north of Cactus Wren Drive, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle honked its horn and possibly had its bright headlights on before striking the man, then apparently continued southbound on Stagecoach Trail.

A passerby found the victim on the side of the roadway and called 911.

The victim received initial first aid from deputies. When Mayer Fire personnel arrived on the scene, they requested air transportation to a Phoenix hospital for further treatment. He suffered head and leg injuries, but those injuries did not appear life-threatening, the release states.

There were no witnesses, and the victim was unable to provide a vehicle description. Deputies are ascertaining if this was an intentional act, but it is not clear at this time.

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking any assistance from the public in locating the vehicle and suspect(s) involved. If anyone has information, please call Yavapai Silent Witness at 1800-932-3232. If a tip to Silent Witness leads to an arrest, the tipster is eligible for a cash reward. Refer to case 18-045989.
