Arizona man pleads guilty in double murder case
KINGMAN — An Arizona man has pleaded guilty in a double murder case.
The Mohave Valley Daily News reports Francisco Javier Romero Jr. of Bullhead City pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of first-degree murder and kidnapping.
He had been held on a $10 million bond before entering the plea.
Romero and four other suspects had faced charges in the January deaths of Mona Carter and Daryl Ward in Fort Mohave.
Under a plea agreement, Romero will spend at least 25 years in prison on the murder charge, and up to 21 years behind bars on the kidnapping charge.
He's scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 31. A judge will decide whether to run the sentences concurrently or consecutively.
