Obituary: Edward Steven Austin
Edward Steven Austin died peacefully after a long cancer battle on Dec. 3, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Marley House in Prescott Arizona. His loving wife, Meg, and daughters, Sonja and Michelle, were at his bedside. He was 65.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Ed was born Sept. 6, 1953, in Prescott, Arizona, to Lupe and Fred Austin, and raised in Bagdad, Arizona. He attended Arizona State University (Go Devils!), where he graduated with a business degree in 1974. He returned to Bagdad and worked in the purchasing department for a wonderful 33-year career with the copper mine.
Ed enjoyed listening to music (Steely Dan was his favorite), traveling, going to concerts, spending time with family, exercising, reading and researching investments strategies, and having a good healthy political debate with a Republican. His three granddaughters brought a special warmth to his heart. He felt so lucky that the girls enjoyed taking travel adventures with him and Meg.
Ed will be dearly missed by his wife, Meg; daughters, Sonja Gordanier and husband John, Michelle Treguboff and husband Jeff; granddaughters, Tyler Gordanier, Isabelle Treguboff, and Brooklyn Treguboff; brother, Dave and wife Patsy; in-laws, Ed and Denise Andrews, Katherine and Tom Neuman, Kris and Roger Bauer; nieces and nephews, April Meeker and husband Jason, Heather Giedt and husband Tom, Steven Austin, Chris Austin and wife Teyah, Miranda Cortez, Riley Neuman and wife Nicole, John Neuman and wife Marci, Ayrolyn Keady and husband Kevin, Abby Anderson and significant others Wayne and Jamie Dodge; and 11 great-nieces/nephews.
