Anne Ellen Payne (nee Epperson) died on Aug. 27, 2017, in Prescott, Arizona. Born in Peoria, Illinois, on Sept. 17, 1922, she was the daughter of Harold and Ethel Epperson. Anne graduated from Evanston (Illinois) Township High School in 1940. She was employed by A.C. Nielsen Co., where she met her future husband, Clyde Payne. Following the marriage of their daughter and Clyde’s retirement, they moved to Prescott in 1968, where they owned and operated Allan’s Flowers for several years. After Clyde’s death in 1987, Anne served as a fiduciary for Fiduciaries, LLC, from which she retired in 2002. In 1989 Anne married Hans Christensen, who passed away in 1990. Her last love, Teddie Allison, died in 2005. An avid bowler well into her 60s, Anne remained close to her Prescott area teammates until her death. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and she is remembered even by casual acquaintances for her easy smile. She is terribly missed. Anne marched to her own drum, and she went forth to dance with the merry-makers. She is survived by her daughter, Emily Furlong (Patrick) of Oak Park, Illinois, two grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Information provided by survivors.
