Vearl Leroy “Bud” Welker, 78, of Chino Valley, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Aug. 21, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Raymond and Violet Welker on Aug. 19, 1940 in Georgetown, Cass County, Indiana.
He moved to Chino Valley in January of 1951 where he resided until his death. He was a truck driver for Lemons Trucking 20+ years. He had a great love of family and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and quad riding with them. Bud was the go-to fountain of knowledge for his friends and family. His love of laughter and life touched the lives of so many. There was always a smile on his face and kindness in his heart. He always had a twinkle in his eye with a joke or story to tell. He was always there for anyone and everyone. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Christine; sons and daughters, Brett and Leila Welker, Susan Welker, Leslie and Scott Ward, Laura and Rick DeLaHuerta, Beth and Doug Federico; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Laura (Charles) Lemons, Leora “Teeny” Beam, Henry “Buster” (Virginia) Welker, Darl Peterson, Delores “Babe” (Don) Hill; and many other loved ones and friends. He is preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Violet Welker and grandson, Travis Mcelmurry.
We will celebrate Bud’s life Aug. 31, 2018, at the LDS Church, 441 W. Perkinsville Rd., Chino Valley. Visitation at 12 noon, services at 1 p.m., followed by interment at Chino Valley Cemetery. There will be a dinner served at the church for all friends and family following graveside services.
