Flooding causes evacuations near Big Bug Creek

Heavy rains in the area of Big Bug Creek have caused flooding, resulting in the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office to call for a mandatory evacuation for residents located in low lying areas near Big Bug Creek on Thursday evening.

A shelter has been set up at Mayer High School. YSCO encourages residents to get to higher ground and avoid low water crossings.
