Mile Hi Horseshoe Club to play Aug. 21, 28 in Prescott

Due to wet weather, the Mile Hi Horseshoe Club has not been able to conduct its last two regularly scheduled league play nights on Thursdays. As a result, the Club will compete on two make-up dates, including 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and 28 at Watson Lake Park Horseshoe Complex, 3101 Watson Lake Road, in Prescott. Those dates are in addition to the regularly scheduled league play sessions at 6 p.m. Aug. 23 and 30. For more information about league play, call Club president Cal Cordes at 928-583-4258.

Skull Valley Loop Challenge set for Sept. 16 in Prescott

The 2018 Skull Valley Loop Challenge is scheduled to take place Sunday, Sept. 16, in Prescott. The 54-mile road loop begins and finishes in historic downtown Prescott. Skilled veterans or those new to the sport are welcome to sign up. Race registration cost is $75. Those who register before Aug. 24 are guaranteed a race event shirt. The event is capped at a limited number of riders. Proceeds from the Skull Valley Loop Challenge benefits Prescott Alternative Transportation (PAT), a non-profit 501-c3. The Prescott boys and girls basketball programs are getting together to hold a Badger basketball reunion Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, in Prescott. EnduroCross Motorcycle Racing set for Aug. 25 at PV Event Center

EnduroCross Motorcycle Racing is scheduled to bring some of the top EnduroCross racers in the world to the Prescott Valley Event Center on Saturday, Aug. 25. EnduroCross racing features indoor, off-road motorcycle racing on a custom track filled with obstacles including rocks, boulders, logs, sand, mud and giant tires. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with an autograph session scheduled at that time until 7:15 p.m. Opening ceremonies are 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children ages 2 to 12. 5th annual Guns & Hoses Memorial Golf Tournament set for Aug. 26 in Prescott

The fifth annual John Hanna Sr. Guns and Hoses Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled to take place Sunday, Aug. 26, at Antelope Hills Golf Course in Prescott. The tournament’s roster is set to accommodate 200 players as the field will play on both the north and south course at Antelope Hills. Hanna was a 10-year veteran of the Prescott Police Department and City of Prescott councilmember. He was also a Little League coach and heavily involved in the community. The tournament will benefit the Prescott Police Explorer Program and Prescott Fire Fighter Charities. The tournament is a four-person flighted scramble, with each team required to include at least once current or retired Prescott police officer or firefighter. Tournament fee is $65 and includes green fees, cart, range balls and lunch. It is an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
