Embry-Riddle volleyball receives Top 25 votes in NAIA national poll
Eagles grab two Top 25 wins at Hope International Invite to open season
PRESCOTT — After finishing with a 30-5 overall record and qualifying for the NAIA Volleyball National Tournament for the first time in program history a year ago, the Embry-Riddle volleyball team received votes in the NAIA preseason national poll Wednesday morning.
The Eagles (2-0, 0-0 Cal Pac) just missed out on a preseason Top 25 ranking by receiving 88 total points, two shy of the No. 25 spot held by Jamestown, which had 90 points.
Embry-Riddle picked up two wins to begin the 2018 season Wednesday afternoon by defeating No. 24 Northwest 3-2, and No. 7-ranked College of Idaho, 3-1, at the Hope International Tournament in Fullerton, California.
The Top 5-ranked teams include No. 1 Lindsey Wilson (371 points), No. 2 Dordt (364 points), No. 3 Missouri Baptist (345 points), No. 4 Viterbo (341 points) and No. 5 Park (328 points).
