CAFMA puts out residential fire in Dewey's Whitehorse Ranch
Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority responded to a residential structure fire in the 1900 block of North Gallian Fox Run in the Whitehorse Ranch subdivision in Dewey at 2:47 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, according to a release from CAFMA Fire Marshal Rick Chase.
The fire had started on the exterior of the residence and spread throughout. The residents were home and safely evacuated.
“Due to this area not having fire hydrants, a water shuttle operation was set up using three water tenders. This is where a large portable water tank is set up for fire engines to draft water from,” the release states. “The three water tenders worked in rotation by filling up a fire hydrant in another location and unloading the water into the portable water tank.”
A total of six engines, three water tenders, a battalion chief and a fire investigator were on-scene.
One adult and one child were treated at Yavapai Regional Medical Center East campus, as was one firefighter who was treated for heat exhaustion and released Saturday morning, Aug. 11.
