On Friday, Aug. 24, at Captain CrossFit, 420 6th St., there will be a Friday Night Hot Shot Workout and 5K Fun Run to support local teens.

The 5K starts at 5:30 p.m. and the Hot Shot Workout begins at 6:30, according to a news release. Celebrate the amazing 19 Hotshots who protected our community, enjoy a challenging fun workout, and support the youth in Prescott.

The 5k will take participants through the city’s urban Greenways Trail, and will start and finish at Captain CrossFit.

The Hot Shot Workout will be scaled for all levels, from novice to expert and will take place at Captain CrossFit as well. The event has been hosted every year by Captain CrossFit since the community tragically lost 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshot Crew on June 30, 2013.

This event is done each year to honor these men and give back to the community they protected.
