El Yucateco Hot Sauce becomes official hot sauce of Whiskey Off-Road
Barley Hound offers food, drinks infused with sauce at Saturday night’s party
El Yucateco Hot Sauce has partnered with Epic Rides to become the official hot sauce and the “King of Flavor” for the Whiskey Off-Road.
This year, the Off-Road is from Friday to Sunday, April 27-29, and due to the partnership, crit races at the four stop series are officially titled the “El Yucateco Pro Fat Tire Crits” with a $4,000 series wide purse, according to a news release from Epic Rides President Todd Sadow. Further, the sauce itself should add a kick to a few menu items from the Barley Hound, 234 S. Cortez St., over the weekend.
“We’re quite excited for the Pros to now have a cash purse to race for during the El Yucateco Crit races on Friday night,” Sadow said. “ … more notable is that now as people earn their right to overindulge on calories while refueling post ride, everyone in Prescott this weekend will have the unique opportunity to eat El Yucateco spiced wings at Barley Hound or imbibe an El Yucateco spiked ‘Pirates Old Fashion’ and/or a ‘Green Devil Margarita.’”
These menu items will be offered at the Saturday night party following live music on courthouse plaza, the news release states.
A family-owned company, El Yucateco is known for hand picking habanero peppers from the company’s own fields for every bottle of hot sauce. It is celebrating 50 years and its El Yucateco Vice President of Marketing, North America, Amy Colella, spoke highly of the partnership with Epic Rides.
“The pure energy, passion and enthusiasm that riders bring to mountain biking is awesome,” Colella said. “We could not be more excited to join forces with Epic Rides this year.”
