Beverly Lenore Bonds, 93, of Prescott, Arizona, went to be with her Lord on April 6, 2018. Originally from Ridgway, Pennsylvania, she had lived in Kirtland, Ohio, and Phoenix, Arizona, before retiring to Prescott.
Beverly was a long-time member of The Church of the Nazarene, and delighted in sharing God’s love. She was an avid gardener, an exquisite observer of the details of the world, and extraordinarily gifted at finding and delighting in the sacred in the ordinary. She delighted in birds and cats, and Rachmaninov’s Second Concerto. She loved to dance and sing and draw and write stories. She enjoyed convertibles, and fishing, and coffee in China cups.
She appreciated being in the presence of good friends and family. She excelled with words and knew their power. She loved to eat but not to cook. She wrote letters by hand to family and friends, each of which had the spirit and phrasing of a poet. She was deeply loved in this life by the many lives she touched. She loved being a woman, and was, in the best sense of the word, a lady.
Beverly is survived by her three children, Cathy Lewis, LMFT, of Carlsbad California, Rev. Claudia Thomason of Chino Valley, Arizona, and Dr. David Baker of Winter Park, Florida. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and by close friends whom she “adopted” into her family. Private family services will be held in Colgrove, Pennsylvania. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary.
