Leah Herring

Leah C. Herring was raised in San Diego and attended UCLA.

In 1955 she married Edward Herring, a Presbyterian minister. Together they ministered in churches in Kansas and Texas and Tempe, Arizona, where he was the campus pastor at Arizona State University.

After his death in 1964, Leah and her children moved to Prescott, where she worked with the Yavapai County Assessor’s Office until her retirement in 1995.

She was one of the original Prescott Art Docents and also volunteered at the Chamber of Commerce and at Sharlot Hall Museum.

In 2006 she married happy fellow traveler and RVer Donald Sharpe, and together they traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Ireland. She loved Ireland and traveled there five times.

She is survived by her husband Donald, of Prescott; her children, Donald Herring of Tucson, Bill Herring of Athol, Idaho, Ellen Herring Buckley of Tucson and Sarah Lerner of Prescott; and by numerous grandchildren.

Because she loved to travel, she “will see you down the road.”

Private interment will take place at Resthaven in Phoenix.
