Prescott's defending Division I state champion mountain-biking team leads the Arizona Interscholastic Cycling League’s (AICL) D-I team standings after winning the second of the 2017 season’s five races Sunday at Pioneer Park.

The Badgers, who posted 3,164 first-place points on their home course’s 6.3-mile loop, currently lead second-place Buena of Sierra Vista by a combined point total of 6,321 to 6,260. Races 3, 4 and 5 for the 13 teams in D-I are scheduled for Oct. 7 and 8 at Fort Huachuca, Oct. 21 and 22 in Fountain Hills, and Nov. 4 and 5 in Waddell, respectively.
