Gilbert Brambila Sorian

Gilbert Brambila Soriano, also known as Quate by his old friends, born Nov. 15, 1934 in Mayer, Arizona, passed away September 21, 2017 in Mayer, Arizona at the age of 82. He lost his battle with congestive heart failure. He is survived by his wife, Carrie, married for 59 years; sons: Gilbert Lee (Sylvia), David (Ronda) and Albert; daughters: Tanya Olsen (Carl), Renita Klemmedson (Dan) and Linda; eleven grand children and seven great grandchildren; brothers: Pete, Junior (Mary); sisters: Juanita Maya, Alice Carreras (Louis) and Irene Rodarte; sister-in-law, Marie; numerous nieces and nephews; self-adopted son, Shawn Myers; and last but not least, the entire Bais family.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ygnacio and Bessie; twin brother, Albert; brother Mike; and sister, Frenchie.

He worked at the Iron King Mine in Humboldt, Arizona, Magna Copper Mine in Superior, Arizona, Dept. of Transportation, Mayer School District and Arizona Public Service. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth teams in the Mayer and Humboldt area and was very successful in both. He loved every minute of it!!

His body has been donated to Science Care and after all scientific studies have been done, he will be cremated and his remains will be returned to his family.

A Memorial may or may not be held at a later date. His ashes will be spread in the Hutch Mountain area east of Flagstaff, where he spent so many happy times camping and hunting with family and friends.
