Letter: Healing Field thanks

Editor:

On behalf of Mary Mallory and the Prescott Valley Healing Field team, I want to thank our community for its continued support of Patriot Week.

Many hands make light work and that was true on Sept. 8 and Sept. 15 with set-up and take-down. Those helping hands were the Central Arizona Fire and Medical (CAFMA) personnel, the Fire Academy students, Prescott Valley Police, the police academy NARTA students, Stoney Creek Construction and many, many community members who volunteer every year.

It takes nine months to plan this event as it has a lot of moving parts. The community partners who help make the moving parts possible are Asphalt Paving and Supply and Fann Construction who keep our Field lit; Stoney Creek Construction with their generous donation of supplies and manpower; Walmart, Kohl’s and Cableone for their monetary support in the form of grants; the Town of Prescott Valley Parks and Rec, which lays out the Field and CAFMA, which stores our 3,000 flags, rebar and 470 pairs of boots.

We were so excited to welcome 500 local and surrounding area schoolchildren to the Field. Indeed, the most we’ve ever had! Hats off to HUSD Superintendent Dan Streeter and PUSD Superintendent Joe Howard for supporting and encouraging their teachers to bring their classes to the Field. Thank you to the Mayer and the Kirkland school teachers who brought their classes.

Again I want to heartily thank every man, woman and child who lent their hands and their hearts to the 2017 Prescott Valley Healing Field of Northern Arizona!
