Good character and citizenship are universal values that most people would likely say they strive to achieve. At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona, those core values are emphasized every day, making the Clubs so much more than an after-school program.
On Friday, Sept. 8, the kids of our local Boys & Girls Clubs will be putting those values into action by hosting a community yard sale to benefit the families displaced by Hurricane Harvey. The yard sale will take place at the Boys & Girls Clubs Prescott Clubhouse, 335 Aubrey St.
The entire community is encouraged to participate. There are two ways you can help:
First, donations of household goods and clothing in good condition are needed to make the sale a success. Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7. Drop off items at the upper level basketball court of the Prescott Clubhouse. You’ll receive a tax-deductible receipt for your in-kind donation.
Second, come back and shop from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8. Staff and volunteers will be assisting in the morning hours, while the Boys & Girls Clubs kids will be working the sale in the afternoon hours. Cash only, please. If you’re not a yard sale shopper, stop buy and purchase a glass of lemonade from the kids.
Help the kids of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona support Hurricane Harvey families in their time of great need. Any questions, please call the Boys & Girls Club office at 928-776-8686.
