Police to conduct extra enforcement over Labor Day weekend

Several law enforcement agencies will be joining together in a special enforcement detail over the Labor Day weekend.

Prescott Valley Police, Prescott Police, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, and Yavapai Prescott Tribal Police with take part in the detail, which begins Friday, Sept. 1 and continues through Sept. 4.

Extra officers will be deployed to enhance traffic safety during this period. A command post will also be set up at the Sam’s Club parking lot in the night time hours.

Police will focus on occupant restraint, impaired driving, speeding and pedestrian safety in order to reduce the number of car crashes and the resulting injuries and fatalities.

The cooperative effort is funded by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety DUI Traffic Enforcement Program.
