Earl James Savage

Earl James Savage passed away on Nov. 11, 2017. He was born on Dec. 23, 1938, in Adair, Iowa, to Merle and Emma Gene Savage. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, John.

Earl grew up in, and raised his family in Oregon. He moved to Southern California in 1981 where he was employed by and retired from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. After his retirement in 2000, he and his wife, Gwen, moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona, so he could pursue his passion for gold prospecting. Earl is survived by his wife, Gwenyth Savage; son, Bradley Savage; daughter, DeAnne Savage; step-daughter, Deanna Ekings; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Nancy and Judy.

No services are planned at this time. Earl’s wishes were that his ashes be strewn over Tillimook Bay in Oregon. Earl spent much of his life in Oregon and loved to fish and trap crab and had wonderful memories of those times.
