Obituary: Martial Henri Arnold Sr.
In loving memory, Martial Henri Arnold, Sr., 83, of Dewey, Arizona passed away peacefully on Feb. 23, 2017, in Prescott, Arizona.
Martial was born in Chicago in June 1933 to Ann and Henri Arnold. After attending high school in Chicago, Martial served in the U.S. Marines from 1953-55. Martial initially worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, California, and retired from the Long Beach Naval Shipyard in 1989 after 28 ½ years of service as the General Foreman of Electrical Engineering-Shop 57.
Martial is survived by his wife, Helen Margaret Arnold of Dewey, Arizona; his daughter, Karen Arnold of Montclair, New Jersey; his son, Martial Henri Arnold, Jr. of Ladera Ranch, California; his daughter-in-law, Jean Bradley Arnold; three grandchildren, Megan Jean Arnold, Allison Ann Arnold and Jack Bradley Arnold; and cousin Helen Kaniewski of Orland Park, Illinois.
Martial enjoyed traveling the U.S. with his wife, Helen, visiting relatives and friends while seeing the country. He loved the new home he designed and built with Helen in 2002, spending time with his friends, working on projects around the house, helping others, fishing and gardening. Martial was loved by his family members and friends. His positive and helpful approach to life was extended to everyone he knew. He was a wonderful father and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held at Prescott National Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona, on Monday, March 6, 2017, at 1 p.m.
