Pilot walks away from small plane mishap

PRESCOTT—A small airplane had trouble on take-off from the Prescott Municipal Airport Tuesday morning, March 1, and ended up off the end of the runway, according to Prescott Fire spokesman Don Devendorf.

The plane, “while climbing … did not have the power necessary to continue the climb, so the pilot decided to land the aircraft,” Devendorf said.

It came to rest off the end of the runway, in the grass.

The pilot was not hurt, the airplane was undamaged, and was towed back to a hangar, Devendorf said.
