King Pearl Go Skateboarding Day event coming up

In honor of Go Skateboarding day, Wednesday, June 21, King Pearl Clothing and The Skate Stop will be hosting King Pearl Clothing’s second annual Go Skateboarding Day weekend event on Saturday and Sunday, June 24 and 25.

The free, family friendly event will take place at the Mike Fann Community Skate Park, 799 E. Willis St., in Prescott.

There will be skating, food and clothing companies from all over Arizona, as well as games and prizes for anyone who partakes.

“This is a two day skate competition including a cash prize for top contenders,” said Matt Joannes, owner of King Pearl Clothing.

Saturday:

Beginner, intermediate, sponsored division competition. Top five contenders move to the next bracket.

Sunday:

Beginner, Intermediate and sponsored division: choose your bowl competition. Choice between the kidney bowl and the clover. This will be a last man standing style bowl competition. Also, best trick on the Prescott double set will be awarded.

Though skaters are encouraged to pre-register, they may also register at the skate park on the day they wish to compete by 11 a.m. The competitions will start at 12:30 p.m. both days.
