The Prescott Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Mortimer Farms and Yavapai Regional Medical Center to introduce a brand new annual community event, Business to Farm: A Local Experience.
The event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 26 at Mortimer Farms, 12907 Highway 169, Dewey. The purpose is to bring families and the community together through a taste-full country experience and to support local businesses.
Labeled a business expo, it will feature the booths of community businesses and a chance to enjoy fun farm activities throughout the day.
Farm activities include hayrides, a petting zoo, tire swings and more, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for each child and adult.
Guests will have the opportunity to win prizes donated from businesses around the tri-city area. Register for the Business Expo at Prescott.org.
Following the expo will be a Farm to Table event, which includes wine tasting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and a farm-fresh dinner experience prepared by Mortimer Farms, served from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Dancing, featuring live music from Sky Daddy & The Pop Rocks, will take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets for Farm to Table are $35. Purchase tickets at Prescott.org.
Children from ages 4-12 can have their own Farm to Table experience from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for $10 per child. This will cover the cost of their meal and includes activities such as learning a farm craft, a cookie walk and playtime at the tire playground, zip line, pedal cart races, pony hop, farm bowling, giant slides and more. Supervision of the children will be provided by members of 4-H and FFA, two volunteer-based youth mentoring organizations.
In the event that weather prohibits the event from taking place on Saturday, Aug. 26, it will instead take place on Sunday, Aug. 27, and will follow the same schedule.
All ticket purchases are final and nonrefundable.
