MATFORCE sponsors free training on opioid overdoses
MATFORCE invites the community to attend a free training titled “Opioid Overdose: What It Looks Like and How to Respond.”
The training will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Step One Coffee House’s Large Conference Room, 6719 E. 2nd St., Suite C, Prescott Valley. Can’t attend? There’s another session from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Verde Valley Medical Center, Conference Rooms A & B, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood.
Firefighter/Paramedic Ivan Anderson will discuss what an opioid overdose looks like, how to respond, Arizona’s naloxone law for overdose prevention, and how to use naloxone to rescue an overdose victim. Anderson, who works for Verde Valley Fire District, is a member of the MATFORCE Speakers Bureau.
