Prescott Mayor Harry Oberg was one of two Arizona mayors recently appointed to the League of Arizona Cities and Towns’ Executive Committee.
The League announced this week that Oberg and Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord were selected to fill seats vacated by former members who did not seek re-election in their local elections in November 2016. The two mayors will complete the remaining terms on the Executive Committee.
“We are delighted to have Mayor Lord and Mayor Oberg join us,” said League President Mayor Jay Tibshraeny of Chandler. “Both of these mayors bring a great perspective to the League.”
The Executive Committee is the League’s governing body, a group of 25 mayors and councilmembers from incorporated cities and towns across the state. Officers and members of the Executive Committee are elected for two‐year overlapping terms each August during the League’s Annual Conference.
