Henry (Hank) Stanley

Henry (Hank) Stanley, 78, passed away Jan. 29, 2017, at home on Hospice Care with his beloved wife, Edith, of 47 years, and friends at his side. He was born Jan. 10, 1939, in Lacky, Kentucky, to Ernest and Marie Stanley.

Hank enlisted in the US Army in around 1958 at the age of 16 years old. He finished his high school and college in the military. After serving 26 years and 7 months, he was discharged with honor with the rank of Sergeant First Class in January 1980. Hank was awarded the Bronze Star Medal during the Vietnam war.

After retirement, he took over running a concessionary gas station, auto garage and parts store in Germany on the military base for five years. He came back to live in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Hank and Edith moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona, in 1995 and got a job at The Daily Courier till 1998. He held the role of Administrator of the Prescott Moose Lodge 319 from 1999 to 2007.

He is survived by, and will be tremendously missed by, his wife Inge, step-son Rudolf Ruhland and family; sister Yvonne Wagoner; brother Larry, their families and many, many friends.
