Nikki Von Aschen, 74, of Prescott Valley, Arizona, passed away Dec. 6, 2017. She was born May 20, 1943, in Tyler, Texas, to Tressie Bell Cox and Hugh Cox. Nikki’s birth name, Imogene (Gaelic: Inghean for heroine maiden) Cox, was subsequently changed to Nikki Cox, and then to Nikki Pannell through marriage to her first husband, Larry Dale Pannell, and then to Nikki Von Aschen through marriage to her second husband, Richard Louis Von Aschen.
Nikki is survived by her husband, Richard L. Von Aschen; by her son, Mark R. Pannell; and by her step-sons, Bradley Von Aschen and Brent Von Aschen.
True to her given birth name, Imogene, Nikki struggled to live with Addison’s Disease for 53 years, yet did so as a heroic maiden. In the struggle of those 53 years, she always persevered to place family first before herself. No formal services will be held as family has decided to conduct a private celebration-of-life at a future date. Arrangements entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.
