The sixth annual Mile High Brewfest, benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona, drew a record-breaking 1,300 participants taking advantage of discounted pre-sale tickets. In total, over 2100 attendees lined Cortez street, sipping on a wide variety of craft beers.
The event was advertised as rain or shine, and rain it did. Participants embraced the monsoon, as it seemed to enhance the celebratory nature of the crowd. Eventually, a torrential downpour resulted in a portion of fencing being swept away. Without fencing in place, the event could not continue within the scope of Arizona state liquor laws, and was called about one hour early.
All in all, it was an event to remember, and BGCCAZ is grateful for the support of the attendees in raising over $40,000 for our community’s youth.
