An Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University training flight ended when the plane blew a tire and went off the runway at the Prescott Municipal Airport on Tuesday morning, Aug. 8, said ERAU spokesman Jason Kadah.
The airplane, a twin-engine Diamond DA-42, was being flown by a student with an instructor. They were practicing aborted-takeoff procedures about 7:30 a.m. when the tire blew.
No one was injured and the only damage to the aircraft was the tire and landing gear door, Kadah said.
The runway was closed for a short time while the airplane was towed back to a hangar, he added.
