Prescott woman, 55, hurt in single-vehicle rollover
PRESCOTT VALLEY – A Prescott woman, 55, is in stable condition after a single-vehicle rollover crash Wednesday, Aug. 2, just before 8 p.m.
Prescott Valley police responded to a report of the crash on the on-ramp to Highway 89A from Glassford Hill Road.
Officers arrived and found the driver in the overturned Suzuki SUV. Central Arizona Fire & Medical (CAFMA) fire crews were able to remove her using a ladder.
She was transported to Phoenix's John C. Lincoln Hospital by helicopter and was in stable condition as of mid-day Thursday.
A tire failure may have led to loss of control, the preliminary investigation indicates. After leaving the roadway westbound, the vehicle overturned at least three times, according to a news release. Speed and impairment do not appear to be a factor, however, the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
Emergency crews had to use the full width of the on-ramp, which required closure of the ramp for about two hours while the investigation was completed and debris removed.
